A team of 800 people, including several American stars like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, is currently working in the Dordogne, at Beynac castle near Sarlat, for the filming of a film by director Ridley Scott. "It is true that shooting a film like this is quite exceptional," says a hotelier on Europe 1.

In Dordogne, the director Ridley Scott, to whom we owe the films Blade Runner , Gladiator , or more recently Alone on Mars , tries to discreetly shoot his latest film, The Last Duel . But near Sarlat, the Beynac castle, where the action takes place, is finally in full swing. The reason: the presence on the bill of several American stars including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The shooting also requires a team of about 800 people ... For professionals and residents of the area, the film represents a great animation in February.

"Only positive"

"It’s true that shooting a film like this is quite exceptional, we don't often have that. It’s only positive. They’re very fantastic so it’s good for us to have that at this period, because the month of February is usually relatively calm. It's good for the city, for us ", says a hotel owner who wishes to remain anonymous. "We have a confidentiality clause so I don't really want to tell you what is going on in our establishment. In Sarlat simply, the people [in the film] are there. Then they go out to have fun."

A film about the Middle Ages

The presence of American actors also attracts the curious. "People see the advertising that is done so they come in order to see the celebrities. They must wait for that," said the hotel.

The only information known about the film at the moment is that its script takes place in the Middle Ages.
