President Donald Trump deplored that he won the Oscar for Best Film for South Korean Parasites , wondering how a foreign film could get that honor .
At a rally in Colorado Springs this Thursday night, the president of the United States criticized the Oscar committee for awarding the aforementioned prize to the Bong Joon-ho movie, the first time a non-English film wins this award.

Throughout the awards season, Bong urged the American public to overcome their stubbornness when watching movies with subtitles . In January, after Parasites won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, Bong said during his speech that "once you overcome the one inch high barrier of subtitles, you will be presented with many more amazing movies.
