Prosecutor complains of acquittal for `` shaking infants '' appeal February 21, 20:27

Tachikawa Branch of Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office dismissed the ruling in 2017, when a father was accused of injuring him for shaking his one-month-old daughter in Machida City, Tokyo, for death. An appeal was filed on the 21st.

Mr. Hayato Nakama (43), who shook his daughter's head at the time of his first month at his home in Machida, Tokyo in January 2017, damaged his brain and died in January 2017. He was charged with injury and fatality, but the first instance Tokyo District Court Tachikawa Branch pleaded guilty on the 7th of this month as "it is not deemed to have committed assaulting his eldest daughter."

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Tatekawa Branch appealed the ruling to the Tokyo High Court on the 21st.

Parents and others have been arrested for suspected abuse over shaking of infants, but cases have been subsequently prosecuted and acquitted nationwide, and investigations and trials have been debated.
