While the TF1 adventure show is making a comeback this Friday evening, Denis Brogniart returned to Anne Roumanoff's microphone on some of the show's secrets. The opportunity to learn a bit more behind the scenes of the game

If you are a fan of the cult show presented by Denis Brogniart, the date has already been ticked in your calendar for a long time. The new season of Koh-Lanta, called "The island of heroes", arrives this Friday evening on TF1. A 25th edition that promises once again to be rich in twists and turns: physical tests, rants on the camp, strategies of all kinds ... Everything that makes the salt of this adventure game should once again be there. But before kick-off, Denis Brogniart was the guest of the Anne Roumanoff show on Europe 1, where he distilled some information that you certainly don't know about the show.

1. Thousands of applications received each year

In Koh-Lanta, everyone knows that the candidates' bodies and minds are put to the test. But we have to believe that this difficulty is far from pushing back the French, since even before having to push their limits under the cameras, a first battle is already playing out to integrate the cast. Each year, "25,000 people apply" for the program, slips Denis Brogniart. The selection is therefore drastic, since only a handful will be retained to live an adventure that they will probably not forget.

2. More than 100 people work behind the scenes during the broadcast

If the candidates live in Spartan conditions throughout their adventure, this is not the case for the production teams, nor for Denis Brogniart himself. The "100-150 people who work on the set have the right to a certain comfort" once their long day at work is over, he explains at the microphone of Europe 1. Room with bed, food ... it is a real "life parallel to adventurers" that is set up for the teams. "A life in which our existence is normal, with three meals a day."

3. Denis Brogniart tests certain tests ...

A great sportsman, the journalist is also a competitor. A trait that prompted him to try certain tests, "those that [he] particularly like". And among these physical challenges, the presenter rubbed shoulders with the most emblematic of the show: the posts. If he has not tested it "on the length", Denis Brogniart confides however that his "sense of balance is pretty nil" ...

4. ... And change my shirt during the tests

Who says Koh-Lanta, says trying physical tests, often under a blazing sun. So necessarily in these conditions, sweating can be abundant in some. But in the midst of the sweaty candidates, Denis Brogniart always has an impeccable shirt, immaculate with all traces of heat. "On certain events, I can use, consume, soak, four or five shirts," he confides to Anne Roumanoff's microphone.

5. The host keeps in touch with certain candidates after the broadcast

After seeing hundreds of adventurers parade, Denis Brogniart kept in touch with a few of them. Among them, we find the emblematic Moundir, or Claude. Revealed in the tenth edition of the program, and reviewed in 2012 in "Revenge of the heroes", the candidate shares a passion with Denis Brogniart: running. The moderator is also open to discussion since the participants can "join him when they wish".
