After 7 pm on the 19th, a nearby resident found smoke coming out of his house in Nitta, Adachi-ku, Tokyo, and reported to the fire department.

Twenty-five fire trucks were dispatched to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished in about two and a half hours. The fire burned down about 60 square meters of a two-story wooden house.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, two elderly men and women were rescued from the ground floor and transported to a hospital, but both died. The deceased man was identified as Shigeyuki Nishio (95) who lives in this house, and the Metropolitan Police Agency is identifying the woman as a wife in her 80s. The son who lived with him was out and was safe.

The site is near the border between Adachi Ward and Kita Ward, and it is an area where houses and factories are densely located about 2 km from JR Akabane Station.

On the other hand, according to the Tokyo Fire Department, there was a fire in Tokyo at 8:00 a.m. on the 20th, and a fire in an apartment in Minamisuimoto, Katsushika-ku.
