"With the Museum of the Year, we want to draw attention to museums that are innovative, which have a major impact on the public and that contribute to the image of the Swedish museums as important and independent," says Patrik Steorn, jury chairman of the Museum of the Year and member of the Board of Swedish Museums, in a release.

The three finalists were selected by a jury from the proposals received. The winner of the Museum of the Year is announced in Visby on April 27 and the prize is presented by Minister of Culture Amanda Lind. Last year, the award went to Sketches Museum in Lund.
