The professor of comparative jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, Saad Eddin Al-Hilali considered that the occurrence of an oral divorce between Egyptian husbands is "invalid", since they are pronouncing the word "divorce" by hamza instead of the letter Qaf, based on the opinion of Dr. Ali Gomaa, the former Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Al- Hilali added, during his hosting with Amr Adib, on the MBC channel , That although only 1% of jurists took this opinion, And that is that the divorce is with the letter Q, instead of the hamza that the Egyptians utter , However it is considered a favorable opinion and can be taken , Explaining that the goal is always the need to preserve the family, therefore, " we are looking for anomalous opinion in order to preserve marital life ."
