The online premiere of the series Home Detention took place on August 16, 2018. At the end of the year, the tape was marked by many awards - for example, the project received eight awards from the Association of Film and Television Producers.
"Home Arrest" was recognized as the best comedy series of the year. Prizes also went to Semyon Slepakov (script), Petr Buslov (directing), Pavel Derevyanko (main role), Albina Tikhanova and Timofey Tribuntsev (secondary roles), as well as Ruslan Gabdrakhmanov and Tatyana Khrechkova, who were responsible for the editing and casting, respectively.
In addition, the creators of the picture were awarded the special prize "Nika" - "For creative achievements in the art of television cinema."
Critics noted the “unprecedentedly high” level of work of the film crew and the inherent project “humor on the verge of a foul” and courage (the main character is an official-bribe taker, and the whole plot is built around the misfortunes of those in power).
“The pilot of the“ Home Arrest ”was shown to the press in 2015, but the project then did not go further than the demo version - at that moment Slepakov was completing“ Concerned ”. The puzzle finally took shape only three years later with the help of a powerful team: Peter Buslov (Boomer) in the director's chair, a solid acting ensemble and Oscar-winning Louis Bursa (The Artist) in composers to the heap. Add to this a more than relevant topic - the dominance of corruption in the country - and get a potential TV hit. True, he never went on television: the series premiered on the TNT-PREMIER platform, ”film.ru wrote in 2018.
“Home Arrest” will be aired one and a half years later: on Monday, February 17, TNT will show the first episode of the series (12 in total).
The scriptwriter and creative producer of the picture (as well as the author of the main musical theme of the series “How much money is needed to become happy”) Semyon Slepakov approved the idea of broadcasting on television.
“As the author and screenwriter of Home Arrest, I would like as many people as possible to watch the show, so I'm glad that it will be shown on TNT. I hope that those viewers who have not yet seen the series will enjoy it, ”Slepakov told RT.
In the center of the plot is the story of the mayor of the provincial town of Sineozyorsk Arkady Anikeev (Pavel Derevyanko).
The hero grew up in a modest communal apartment under the strict supervision of a respectable grandmother (Yela Sanko), however, once in power, he radically changed his lifestyle. His life as mayor was made up of expensive cars, crocodile leather phone cases, branded items, an elegantly furnished cabinet and other attributes of luxury.
Also, Arkady could allow himself a mistress (Yana Koshkina tried on an image on the verge of a foul) and another sin, for which an ordinary citizen would certainly have ended up in jail - drugs. At his post, Anikeev felt omnipotent and invulnerable.
In particular, he used his official position to avenge children's insults: remembering yesterday’s hooligan, and now the simple builder Van Samsonov (Alexander Robak) of his sin, Anikeev humiliatingly humiliated an old acquaintance.

However, his assistant Pasha (Sergey Burunov), whom Anikeev admonished with the unchanging phrase "act-atrocity," substitutes the boss - and they catch him on a bribe.
Here the hero falls into the trap of his own modesty: during the investigation, the hero is placed under house arrest not in a luxurious apartment or a luxurious mansion, but at the place of registration - in the same communal apartment of his childhood.
Here, the insulted Samsonov with his wife and children, a pensioner of the Soviet school, Klavdia Viktorovna (Albina Tikhanova), and also a teacher at the Sineoozersky University Marina, still live here. The latter on the eve just accused the official of vandalism - he decided to demolish an architectural monument for the construction of a shopping center.
The old hero’s room is more reminiscent of a prison than a prison - here, in addition to peeling off wallpaper, there are only a metal bed without a mattress and an armchair. In this situation, Anikeev will try to regain money and power, and in the most unexpected way: since his own reputation is hopelessly damaged, the hero will offer Samsonov the place of mayor.

Slepakov, as a screenwriter, as well as Peter Buslov and, of course, Pavel Derevyanko, came up with the main character the most repulsive image: a corrupt, hypocritical, lying sadist. By the way, Derevyanko was awarded the Golden Eagle Award in the nomination for Best Actor in Television for this work.
However, since this character is in the position of the main character, and not the villain, it is assumed that the audience should empathize with him, especially when he gets into very tough stories. Further development of the plot provides that the mayor, let him not get better, but, perhaps, will become more human. None of the central characters in principle can be classified as positive, but at least they are not shown by notorious villains and sometimes cause sympathy.
Ex-Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who back in 2018 got acquainted with the series, noted that the types of characters in the series are quite recognizable.
“I really watched a couple of episodes of this series. It's pretty funny, and some characters are quite recognizable. Something realistic ... If you are hinting at someone - it is unlikely, but recognizable as types - for sure. And some things are just ridiculous, ”said Medvedev, who was then prime minister of Russia.
