One of the highlights of the black literature festival will also be played on the big screen and not just between the lines of a novel. On the occasion of its sixteenth edition, which will take place in Lyon from April 3 to 5, Quais du polar will devote part of its programming to series.

At the top of the bill, we will find the detective series which has enjoyed immense success since its launch in 2005 on Canal +: Engrenages. Two episodes of season 8 will be presented in preview, with the presence of the teams of the series, at the cinema UGC Ciné Cité de confluence, on Saturday April 4, announced this Monday the organizers of Quais du Polar. Good news for fans of the French series who will have to wait several months before discovering this new season on screen.

Non-fiction in the spotlight

For 16 years, the Quais du Polar festival has become a stronghold of international literature. This year again, more than 120 authors of 18 different nationalities will come to Lyon for a weekend. Among them, the American John Grisham, Lisa Gardner, Craig Johnson and Don Winslow, the French Michel Bussi, Frédéric Paulin, Caryl Férey or the Mexican writer and director Guillermo Arriaga. They will participate in meetings, conferences or readings.

A somewhat special genre and in the era of time will also take up more space this year at the festival: non-fiction. Documentary accounts of various events, which are increasingly appreciated by readers, will be represented in number. Among the guests, we can note the announced presence of Patricia Tourancheau, who in 2018 wrote Gregory: the family plot , before directing the successful documentary series, Grégory, for the Netflix platform.
