David Widlund, who is one of the authors of the book The Gryning Pyramid: A Story of Revenge, means that the series asks the same questions as the book, uses the same layout and delves into the same fires as the book does. He thinks the book should have been cited as a source in the TV series.

- It is on the border of plagiarism, you are in a gray zone in the legislation, says author David Widlund.

"Nils Bergman stretched the book"

Behind the TV series Gryningpyromanan stands Nils Bergman, who was previously criticized for his working methods with the podcast Rätttegångspodden, where the relatives of the victims reacted that he used their personal tragedies to sections of the podcast. However, David Widlund does not direct his criticism to Nils Bergman but to SVT:

- He is not responsible publisher. We address our criticism of SVT. Nils Bergman is not interesting, he is not responsible for the production, says David Widlund.

David Widlund and the book's publisher write in a debate post that the book must reasonably be one of the biggest and most important sources behind the television series.

- Nils Bergman himself told me that he read the book and he also bought four books for the team that made the TV series, says David Widlund.

The responsible publisher rejects the allegations

Ingemar Persson, who is responsible publisher for the Dawn Pyramid on SVT rejects the allegations of plagiarism or that SVT would be in a gray zone when it comes to legislation.

- We return to show it completely. There is no trace of plagiarism here, he says, and continues:

- The editors have read his book, but the series is not based on his book just for that. They have also done a lot of other journalistic research.

Considering police report

Recently, one of the authors behind the Mordpodden was convicted in the District Court for copyright infringement for plagiarizing the author Lars Ohlson's book Kakelugnsmordet. David Widlund is in contact with Lars Ohlson and has read that judgment.

- We are now considering a police report just as he did against the Mordpodden, says David Widlund.
