Today we are visiting the women of Bouteydouma, near the town of Rosso and the women of Hamdallaye, near the town Boghé. Details: in Bouteydouma, we are in the Moor area. In Hamdallaye, we are in the Peul region. In the Fulani area, we are essentially breeders.

Publicity

The management of a mini-dairy, the tanning of hides and skins, market gardening, the sale of fish, all these female activities are grouped under an acronym AGR, which means Income Generating Activities. In this type of case, the field specialists of the Regional Support Project for Pastoralism in the Sahel speak of a gender approach and social intermediation.

This kind of approach is after all normal, because when you want to intervene in a society ankylosed by traditions, you have to watch where you set foot. And it is with these same precautions that we will see the women of Bouteydouma. For the foreign journalist, specific support is needed, and the representative of the village chief is there listening at the doors.

Guests:
- Dossou Hamzata Dicko, gender and social intermediation manager at the Regional Support Project for Pastoralism in the Sahel
- Vatimetou Mint Mohamed Zayed Mouslimine, president of the Union of Women of Bouteydouma
- Fatimata Abdalaye Sow, president of the women's dairy group in Hamdallaye.

Production: Sayouba Traoré
