Last month, disinfection began at a hotel in Katsuura, Chiba, where people returned from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China on their first charter flight. The hotel is aiming to resume business on the 1st of next month.

On May 29, 176 of those who returned from Wuhan, China on their first chartered flight and stayed at a hotel in Katsuura, Chiba, were confirmed to be negative for any of the virus tests. Everyone came home.

At the hotel, the disinfection will take place on the 21st, and on the 16th, a representative of the Japan Pest Control Association, commissioned by the government, disclosed the procedures and other information to the press in a room that had already been disinfected.

In a room supposed to have been used by a person who had been infected during the stay, the person in charge was wearing protective clothing and double gloves for goggles, and then using a disinfectant to wipe off. Tatami mats and futons are all discarded and replaced.

In the room where the negative person stayed, the same work should be done with normal clothes, wearing a mask and gloves.

The hotel is aiming to resume business on the 1st of next month, and Cabinet Secretary Hideki Yamaguchi, Cabinet Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat, said, "I would like to work firmly with the responsibility of the government so that business can be done as usual."
