Fourth at Eurovision

It all started in Belgium in the early 90s. A young Belgian songwriter, Eric Vleminckx who calls himself Rick Allison, plays every night in a Brussels piano bar, "Le Crescendo". It was there that he met, on May 28, 1990, a young singer of 20 years, full of promise: Lara Fabian.

This young girl with a powerful voice, who, since the age of 14, has participated in all Belgian song competitions, represented Luxembourg two years earlier, in 1988, at the great Eurovision song contest, at Dublin, with the title Croire . Arriving in fourth position, behind ... Céline Dion, who was competing for Switzerland that year. After that, of course, Lara Fabian has already started an international career. She released a second single, Je sais , and toured Canada. But it is at "Crescendo" that her destiny changes: she makes a "beef" with Rick Allison. A real bond is established, which will soon turn into love passion.

Everything , composed after a breakup

Rick and Lara decide to leave everything and go to conquer Canada. The two lovers settle in Montreal. As they did not find a production house, they created their own label and wrote a first album together, which was released in August 1991. Quebecers quickly fell under the spell of Lara, who obtained a first gold record in 1993. Over for years, both went on to success, until their story ended in 1996, when Lara Fabian's third album, Pure, was produced .

Very affected by this sentimental rupture, the singer writes for her new disc, the title Tout , a very touching song on the end of a love. The single was released in France, at Polydor's, in May 1997 and irony of destiny, it is with this title of romantic breakup that Lara Fabian conquers the love of the French public, that she so longed for.
