The year was 1991. The location was Rottne outside Växjö. This is where it started: glam rock band The Ark was formed.

Five years later, The Ark was on stage as a band for Kent on their Scandinavian tour. The breakthrough came in 2000 with the single It takes a fool to remain sane.

Dear, norm-breaker

With albums such as We are the Ark (2000), In lust we trust (2002) and State of the ark (2004), the band has climbed into both top charts and in the Swedish record collections.

Akivan Archeology (2011) became their last before being dissolved the same year.

But, on Thursday it was clear that Ola Salo, Mikael Jepson, Martin Axén, Jens Andersson, Sylvester Schlegel and Lars "Leari" Ljungberg will be reunited again for a tour, 20 years after the debut.

Since the break-up in 2011, the band members have devoted themselves to both one and the other. Some of them brought to life the band members' old music project Stereo Explosion, Ola Salo played Jesus in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar and Jens Andersson and Mikael Jepson started the synth pop duo Nght.
