It's party time this Tuesday at the Sainte-Catherine Labouré Ehpad in Toulon, in the Var! One of their boarders, Lucile Randon, known as Sister André, is celebrating her 116th birthday today, notably in the presence of the LR mayor of the town, Hubert Falco. Born in Alès, in the Gard, on February 11, 1904, Sister André is the dean of France, since the death in 2017 of Honorine Rondello, but also the dean of Europe.

She is not, however, the dean of humanity, since a Japanese woman, called Kane Tanaka, was born a year before her, on January 2, 1903. She currently lives in a retirement home in Fukuoka.
