“It is a call to action. I did this to raise awareness of the effects of the meat and milk industry on climate change. We are destroying and burning tropical forests, and we see the negative effects on a global scale. People do not realize that we still have time, but only if we act now and if we make significant changes in our consumption. We cannot wait for governments to solve these problems for us. We cannot wait for the elections to change things. We have a personal responsibility to make these changes in our own lives and to act now. "

Extinction Rebellion claims the use of nonviolent civil disobedience to accelerate awareness of the climate crisis and threats to biodiversity. The movement became known in particular by blocking circulation around the National Assembly and by sabotaging electric scooters in support of the demonstrators against the pension reform.
