Co-founder of the journal Les Révoltes logiques , with Jacques Rancière in 1975, then co-director of the fourth volume of L'Histoire des femmes en Occident (le XIXe siècle) with Michelle Perrot in 1991, she was then interministerial delegate for Women's Rights with the Prime Minister and Member of the European Parliament between 1997 and 2004.

She has just published Feminism and Philosophy at Gallimard (Folio).
