An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred off the coast of Papua New Guinea

It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a statement by the US Geological Survey.

Tremors were recorded at 06:04 UTC (09:04 Moscow time) 122 km south of the city of Kokopo.

The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 31.3 km.

Previously reported an earthquake of magnitude 5.5, which occurred in the Drake Strait south of the coast of Argentina.
