  • The exhibition dedicated to the American screenwriter Robert Kirkman is one of the flagship events of the 47th edition of the Angoulême Festival.
  • We discover, in themed rooms, the many narrative universes of the creator of "Walking Dead".
  • Among the animations of the exhibition, a more real - and creepy - zombie “attack” than life.

Robert Kirkman will not have made the trip to the banks of the Charente for nothing: after having received, Wednesday, January 29 and to "pay tribute to all of his work", a Fauve d'honneur of the Comics Festival d 'Angoulême, the American screenwriter inaugurated the exhibition dedicated to him. "20 Minutes" has put together a short video tour for you…

The main part of the exhibition is obviously devoted to this global editorial phenomenon that is Walking Dead : as soon as a thick black curtain is crossed, one finds oneself in the hospital in which Rick, at the very beginning of the series, comes out of his coma … To quickly understand that the world will never be the same again. The sets, embellished with plates by Charlie Adlard - the cartoonist of the comics - are glaring with truth ...

Zombie attack!

… But less than the highlight of the event: at the turn of a corridor, and when we don't expect the least in the world, the doors of a cafeteria start to shake as we pass! We then perceive terrifying grunts and emaciated arms make their way into the interstice, fortunately blocked by a chain, doors. "Wow!" Shouts a visitor, jumping as far as possible. It's too scary !!! ".

Rich and varied universes

The rest of the exhibition returns to the other series, less known but just as exciting, of Kirkman: Invincible , a story of superheroes which is his second biggest success, then Outcast and Oblivion song , his most recent titles. The icing on the cake - tasty, but that a warning prohibits young audiences from tasting it -, a "small museum of horrors" ends the visit by presenting a selection of the most gorgeous scenes produced by the scriptwriter. Sensitive souls refrain !
