Tokyo High Public Prosecutor General reaching retirement age Extraordinary service extension January 31 13:08

Next month, the retirement of Tokyo High Public Prosecutor's Office, Attorney General Hiroshi Kurokawa, will be extended until August.

The prosecutor's retirement age is 65 years and the others are 63 by the Public Prosecutor's Law, and the other person is 63 years old.

Earlier, at the Cabinet meeting on March 31, the government decided to extend the work of Attorney General Kurokawa to August in accordance with the provisions of the National Public Service Law.

Justice Minister Mori told reporters, "Based on the business needs of the Public Prosecutor's Office, we have decided to continue working with Attorney General Kurokawa."

Attorney General's extension of service is extremely unusual, and some observers have suggested that it may be a measure to replace Attorney General Nobuo Inada.
