Actress Jodie Foster - MPI / CapitalPictures / Starface

Jodie Foster tackles a mythical story. That of the Mona Lisa flight, in the Louvre itself, in 1911. According to Variety , the star of Taxi Driver was recruited to adapt the book The Day They Stole The Mona Lisa , which recounts as one of the employees from the museum, a certain Vincenzo Peruggia, an Italian partisan who considered that the masterpiece of De Vinci should be exhibited in Italy, had stolen the painting by hiding it under his coat.

The smile of the Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa only returned to the Louvre in 1914, after her thief was arrested trying to resell it to an art dealer in Florence. It is this story, in part, that helped make the Mona Lisa ( Mona Lisa in English) so popular internationally. Jodie Foster is also attached to the American remake of the Icelandic thriller Woman At War.

No release date has yet been announced for this new project, which was presented at the Sundance film market.
