The German beauty portal, “Hot.D.” reported that vitamin B9 is an effective weapon for fighting nail-biting. This vitamin, also known as folic acid, plays a major role in cell repair processes.

"Hot.D" explained that vitamin B9 helps the growth of nails quickly and also works on enjoying strength and stiffness, noting that the vitamin should be taken at a rate of about 300 micrograms per day, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

Nutritional sources of vitamin B9 are whole grain products and legumes such as chickpeas and lentils. Vitamin B9 supplements can also be taken under the supervision of a physician.
