A dozen patients from a residential facility for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) have symptoms of pneumonia, reports 76actu . The Samu had to intervene this Thursday in order to provide care to people affected by this virus.

“It is a respiratory syndrome which is not unusual in this winter period. Like the flu, it happens regularly, "said Françoise Greverie, a health executive in the group including the nursing home concerned.

"There is nothing to worry about"

To deal with this situation which concerns relatively vulnerable people, the establishment's managers have implemented isolation measures which could last from 8 to 10 days. "The residents stay in their rooms, and the wearing of masks and gloves is put in place," explained Françoise Greverie.

"There is nothing to worry about, these are things that are happening," she added, adding that the families were aware. The people who suffer from this respiratory pathology have in any case been isolated from the other occupants of the nursing home, reports the Norman media.
