"After learning about the bill reforming the pension system, the board of directors of Rennes 2 University (...) opposes it and recalls its attachment to a fair and united pension system", indicates the text, adopted last Friday, but made public on Tuesday.

Lessons and tests suspended all day

"This reform aims to undermine the system of distribution and solidarity between the generations, the foundation of our social state since the Liberation," says the text. The board of directors, which includes teachers, staff, students and personalities from outside the university, denounces in particular the fact that the project "institutes the permanent revision of the level of pensions according to budgetary requirements" and "Postpones retirement age".

Olivier David, president of Rennes 2, has also indicated that the courses and the continuous controls were suspended all day on Wednesday. Several times postponed, the exams for the first semester must now be held after the February vacation, between March 2 and 7. "The new schedule provides for online and face-to-face exams," the university said on January 22.
