Citizens make snow statues at the "Sapporo Snow Festival" Odori venue January 29 15:13
At the Odori venue in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, the main venue for the Sapporo Snow Festival, snow sculptures by citizens began on the 29th.
At the "Sapporo Snow Festival", a large snow statue up to 15 meters in height will be displayed at the "Odori venue", and 80 small snow statues made by citizens will be exhibited, production started on 29th .
At the venue, a three-meter-high lump of snow was prepared, and citizens were working while marking and scooping while looking at the blueprint.
The man who made the snow statue for the virtual idol said, "I'm worried about the snow conditions because the thing was warm, but I hope I can do it well."
This is partly due to the spread of the new coronavirus, and the Sapporo Snow Festival Executive Committee has set up a disinfectant solution at the venue and the staff will take measures such as wearing a mask.
The "Sapporo Snow Festival" will be held at the "Odori Venue" and "Susukino Venue" from April 4 to 11 next month, and at the "Tsudomu" venue from March 31 to November 11 next month.
