The prequel to Game of Thrones on Targaryen is expected in 2022 on HBO. Knight Edge Media has released the first announcements from the House of Dragon cast. Taking place 300 years before the events of Robert Baratheon's rebellion, this prequel will follow an ancestor of Daenerys, King Aegon I, also called Aegon the Conqueror, founder of the Targaryen dynasty and very first ruler of the 7 Kingdoms.
Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal, the two showrunners of the future series, are looking for actors who will play Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys Targaryen. These announcements give indications on the future heroes of the prequel.
Aegon and his two sisters
Aegon is a white man in his twenties who "married his two sisters Visenya and Rhaenys Targaryen". Incest is completely accepted among members of Maison Targaryen, like their ancestors from Valyrian Freehold. They systematically - or almost - marry brother and sister, with the idea of keeping their lineage pure.
Aegon is described as "reserved, calm, pious. Tough with those who challenge him ”. He rides the dragon Balerion. Visenya is the "older sister and wife of King Aegon". She is a "voluptuous, severe, serious and unforgiving woman". She rides the dragon Vhagar.
Rhaenys, in his twenties, is "the younger sister of King Aegon". She is "kind, graceful, playful, curious, impulsive, full of fantasy, with a little playful side". His dragon is called Meraxes.
