The JR Hokkaido sightseeing train running on Kushiro Marsh in winter, "SL Winter Marshland", started operating this season from the 25th.

The "SL Winter Marshland" is a winter sightseeing train that runs approximately 48 km between Kushiro Station and Shibecha Station once a day on the JR Kusami Line in eastern Hokkaido.

On the 25th, a departure ceremony was held at JR Kushiro Station at the start of this season's operation, and the steam locomotive was sounded off by many people and sounded with a whistle.

The five-car train was packed with about 280 people, and when we approached the Kushiro Marsh, we took pictures of the special natural monument of the country, a group of Japanese cranes, and enjoyed the magnificent nature of Hokkaido. .

In addition, a coal stove was placed inside the car, and passengers warmed their bodies by baking and eating the famous shishomo and tasting Japanese sake.

A man in his 40s, who came from Hokkaido, said that drinking alcohol while watching the magnificent view of Kushiro Marsh is the best. A woman in her 60s from Saitama said, "The crane and snow scene were impressive."

The "SL Winter Wetlands" runs on weekends until March 1st.
