Insufficient snow “Bride Road” in a different atmosphere than usual

"Bride road", which reproduces the traditional marriage procession, was held in Ugo Town, Akita Prefecture, and locals blessed it in an atmosphere different from the usual year with little snow.

Ugo-cho's “Bride Road” is a reproduction of the “marriage procession” that had been held locally until around 1955 to connect with the bustle of the town.

For the 35th time, we met at an event in the town, and two years ago we got married and Hideyuki Miyaoka, who lives in Akita Prefecture, and his wife Yoko, played the role of bride and groom.

Usually, horses move on sleds, but since there is not enough snow on the road due to lack of snow, carriages have been used for the first time in 10 years, and two people dressed in attractive costumes are in the mountains from the center. I went 12 km to the settlement.

On the way, I got off the carriage and got bouquets from the locals who gathered, and in return I gave them red and white rice.

Mr. Hideyuki Miyaoka, who played the role of the groom, said, "The snow has melted and the atmosphere is different from the usual year, but the heat of the locals is great."

My wife, Ryuko, said, "I'm very happy to participate in the city's big event."
