The profile of one of the seven individuals arrested in Finistère on Monday during an anti-terrorist call is now known. He is a man in his thirties who was convicted in 2018 for "condemning terrorism", said a source close to the investigation on Tuesday, confirming information from the Telegram .

This suspect, who runs a halal business in Brest according to the daily, had been arrested in the aftermath of the attacks of November 13, 2015 for having mimicked an automatic weapon fire during the passage of a police patrol. A sum of 15,000 euros in cash had been discovered during a search of his home, as well as images of Islamist propaganda, stored on a USB key. This case earned him a suspended sentence in 2018 to three years in prison before the Brest Criminal Court.

16-year-old minor among suspects

In addition to this thirties, six other suspects were arrested Monday morning in Brest and in Finistère as part of a judicial investigation for "association of criminals with terrorist and criminal aims". According to concordant sources, these seven men are suspected of having prepared a plan of violent action in France and a plan to leave for the Iraqo-Syrian zone.

Among them is a minor, aged 16. The arrested, some of whom were S-files, were being followed up for their membership in the radical Islamist movement.
