Fans of Downton Abbey , rejoice: the creator of the series, Julian Fellowes, confirmed via Deadline that there will be a new film based on the cult saga and that it will arrive as soon as he has finished his projects in progress… notably the series The Gilded Age , which he is developing for HBO.

Downton Abbey was one of the surprise boxes of 2019 with an international box office performance of $ 192 million, on a modest budget, from 13 to 20 million, according to the sources.

No date

Julian Fellowes has not yet confirmed any production start date, and for good reason: nothing has yet been written. The Gilded Age , meanwhile, should also satisfy fans of historic drama. Set in 1880, the series will focus on the lives of millionaires in New York in the 19th century.

In the casting, we will notably find Christine Baranski, one of the stars of The Good Wife and her spin-off The Good Fight , as well as Amanda Peet ( Brockmire ) and Cynthia Nixon ( Sex and the City ).
