As revealed by a report by the Audiovisual Communication Studies Office ( Geca ) based on data from Kantar Media , in 2019 the open channels broadcast 66,241 hours of content produced by national producers, the maximum of the last decade. Thus, a year earlier that figure was 62,599, while in 2010 it remained at 38,389, representing a growth of 5.8% in 12 months and 72.5% in a decade.

It also marked in 2019 its maximum of the decade the own production of the chains in open: 65,776 hours of emission, compared to 64,500 hours of 2018 (growth of 1.9%) or 48,543 of 2010 (+ 25.5%) .

The results of this study confirm, in this way, that in 2019 the own production of open-air chains and that produced by national producers accumulated 55.8% of all DTT programming (excluding sports broadcasts). However, foreign production, from foreign producers , remained the predominant in 2019 with 104,846 hours of broadcast.

Globomedia leads the ranking of national production companies with more hours of broadcasting on television during 2019 with a total of 3,885.
