A result that may seem surprising. According to an unpublished classification, published this Sunday in the columns of the JDD , the city where one lives best in France is ... Annecy, chief town of Haute-Savoie. She thus precedes Bayonne and La Rochelle.

This prize list was established by the association "Cities and Villages where life is good", according to 182 criteria, among which the good quality of life, security, transport, shops and services, health, education, sports and recreation. It also takes into account all cities with more than 2,000 inhabitants. For two years, the association analyzed data from over 34,481 municipalities.

Annecy wins overall but also ranks first in the category of "cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants", where it wins this time ahead of Angers (Maine-et-Loire) and La Rochelle (Charente- Maritime).
