More fear than harm. While it was to occur in a hall in the 10th arrondissement of Paris on Saturday evening, Sum 41 announced a few hours earlier the cancellation of the concert on Instagram. The reason ? As they unloaded their equipment, "an explosive device exploded just outside the door of the concert hall," said members of the punk group in a post that has now been deleted, reports Franceinfo.

Fearing that he could not ensure the safety of his audience, Sum 41 therefore decided to cancel the concert. But afterwards, it would seem that the "explosive device" was nothing other than a "firecracker" launched during a demonstration.

Tickets will be refunded

In any case, this was assured by Vincent Le Gall, the manager of the Les Etoiles concert hall, at Franceinfo. According to him, "" yellow vests "blew up an agricultural bomb, a firecracker" in the street where the establishment is located. "It sounds," he said, before adding that the minor explosion did not call the police. The incident took place around 2 p.m. during a new demonstration of "yellow vests" in Paris.

"We talked for three hours with them, but they did not want to do the concert," regretted Vincent Le Gall, adding however not to keep "antipathy" for the group. On Instagram, Sum 41 assured in a new publication that the tickets would be refunded.
