The results of the survey of electronic and electrical waste in homes carried out by the Department of Statistics in Jordan for the past year indicated that the amount of electronic and electrical waste generated from homes in the Kingdom amounted to about 8 million and 735 thousand electrical devices with a weight of (13,446) tons, and were distributed between washers, refrigerators and used televisions As the Capital Governorate recorded the highest percentage in the amount of e-waste.

As for the types of e-waste, the results showed that the type of waste (large equipment) recorded the highest percentage, reaching 84% of the total amount of e-waste resulting from the household sector.

Electronic and electrical waste are classified as hazardous waste, as the waste contains many dangerous elements that have a current and future impact on human health and life in terms of materials manufactured from them such as lead, copper, silver and gold.
