Prof. Nick Shimmy, professor of orthopedics and neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Medicine in Los Angeles, revealed that 60% of the population of the UAE suffers from low back pain, and that most of the conditions that cause these pain come as a result of injuries such as sprain or muscle tear due to sudden movements Or because of the weak mechanism of the body during the lifting of heavy loads or things.

"Low back pain is causing great concern globally, and it suffices to point out that 90% of people suffer from these pain for at least once in their life, about 60% of them re-ache again after a year of their visit to the doctor.

Sheimi's comments came before the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference Arab Health, which is the largest exhibition of health professionals and professionals in the Middle East and North Africa, which will be held in Dubai from 27 to 30 this month.

Sheimi highlighted the potential causes of back pain in the UAE as well, including high body mass index (i.e. weight gain), lack of regular exercise in the open air, and osteoporosis, especially among the elderly. These cases are more prevalent in the Emirates compared to other countries in the world, in addition to the fact that people are not exposed to sunlight sufficiently throughout the year, which leads to a lack of vitamin D level in the body.

It is expected that the Arab Health 2020 exhibition and conference organized by "Informa Markets" will witness the participation of more than 4,250 exhibitors from about 64 countries, and is expected to attract more than 55,000 visitors.
