Image sharing service Instagram announced that it supports DMs feature on the web, in a long-awaited step from the users of the service who send a lot of messages, and this is difficult for them via phones and tablets.

Although the testing of the (private messaging) feature on the web was monitored about a year ago, the company said: The feature is now still experimental, and is available to a small percentage of users worldwide.

Service features
Instagram, owned by Facebook, added that when the feature is launched for everyone, users will be able to see when they have been accused of new messages, view the entire incoming mail, start a new chat, whether individual or group, send photos (not taking them), double-click impressive, and share posts by Messages.

In turn, Instagram CEO (Adam Musri) posted a tweet on the social networking site Twitter, in which he said: She hopes to launch the feature for all users soon after the success of the testing phase.

And by enabling the direct messaging feature on the web, Instagram users will be able to chat with each other on personal computers running Windows and Mac OS, in addition to web browsers on mobile devices.

Of particular importance
It is noteworthy that Instagram, and behind it Facebook, attaches special importance to correspondence, because correspondence increases the interaction of users between each other, as it increases the time they spend on them, through private conversations and discussions related to photos and videos that they exchange or see on the service.

Unlike Facebook, Instagram, which started as an application on mobile devices only, is slowly moving towards providing the services it provides on the web, including messages, as it is still not possible for service users to upload any pictures or stories from the web.

Facebook had enabled messaging on the web and then on mobile devices to decide later to separate the messenger application Messenger and make it a stand-alone platform, and the matter applies to its messaging service, WhatsApp, which started as an application on mobile devices, and then allowed the exchange of messages via the web in 2015, but on Complementary to their application, since messages can only be sent if the phone is connected to the Internet.
