IR Corruption Case Private Secretary Salary from Bribe Transfer Account or January 17, 18:00

IR = One of Arimoto's private secretary's salary from an account of a company set up by a former policy secretary who allegedly received 2 million yen in bribes to Representative Akimoto in a corruption case involving integrated resort facilities. The department was paid for, and we learned from interviews. The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Investigation Division is examining the details of the process, considering that Mr. Akimoto effectively managed the company's account.

Mr. Tsukasa Akimoto, 48, a member of the lower house of the Diet, who was the deputy minister of the Cabinet Office in charge of IR and other matters, bribed 2 million yen as a lecture fee for a symposium held in Naha city by a Chinese company three years ago in September. Was arrested again for alleged bribery.

The 2 million yen bribe was transferred to an account of an entertainment-related company in Tokyo established by defendant Akihiro Toyoshima (41), a former policy secretary who was indicted at home as an accomplice to Rep. Akimoto. Interviews with stakeholders revealed that some of the private secretaries' salaries had been paid.

It also means that the company's funds were used for the food and beverage expenses of Representative Akimoto.

For this reason, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Investigation Division is pursuing the actual situation by assuming that Representative Akimoto effectively managed the company's account and recognized the transfer of bribes.

According to lawyers, Mr. Akimoto denied the charges altogether and explained that "I knew last year that 2 million yen had been transferred to my account, but I did not recognize it as a bribe."
