Bolsonaro dismisses the Secretary of Culture after sharing an official video with Nazi references

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, dismissed this Friday the National Secretary of Culture, Roberto Alvim , amid the controversy generated by emulating the Propaganda Minister of the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels , in an official video.

"He communicated the withdrawal of Roberto Alvim from the Ministry of Culture of the Government. An unhappy pronouncement, although he has apologized, his permanence became untenable ," Bolsonaro said in a note signed by the president himself.

In a video uploaded to the official account of the Special Secretariat of Culture of Brazil on Thursday night, Alvim emulated adjectives and phrases used by Goebbels in a speech made in the mid-twentieth century to promote German culture.
