Manchester United has agreed to give up its defender, veteran Ashley Young, to Inter Milan, according to press reports Thursday.

Young, 34, will arrive in Italy on Friday to undergo a medical examination before signing a 18-month contract, according to Italian newspaper "La Gazeta dello Sport."

United will receive $ 1.6 million in addition to rewards for including Young, who spent eight and half seasons at Old Trafford after arriving from Aston Villa in 2011.

Young played 39 internationals and 261 Premier League matches and scored 19 goals. He was the captain of his team this season, but after 22 rounds so far he has started only 10 league games essential.

Young won the League title in 2013, the Cup in 2016 and the League Cup with the European League title in 2017.

Young left his team fifth, 27 points behind leaders Liverpool, who meet Sunday at Anfield in a top game.

Inter had also signed Belgian strikers Romelu Lukaku and Chile's Alexis Sanchez (loan) from United as well.

Coach Antonio Conte is currently second in the Italian league, two points behind defending champions Juventus.
