Meghan Markle did not wait to get to work. Returning to public life after announcing last week that she and her husband were moving away from the British royal family to live in Canada, the Duchess of Sussex focused directly on her philanthropic endeavors, such as relayed People.

The former Suits star visited the Justice For Girls association, which fights for women's rights in Vancouver.

"It was great to be able to discuss the importance of a holistic approach to social justice and the strength of women's leadership," said a statement posted on the association's website.

Separated family

Meghan Markle is alone in Canada with her son Archie while Prince Harry finalizes with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, their withdrawal from the royal family. Buckingham announced Monday that there will be "a transition period" before the couple can achieve their wish.

Prince Harry, 6th in line of succession to the throne, should stay in Buckingham for a few more days for the draws for the Rugby World Cup, which will take place in 2021.
