The new series House is about a house and the surreal stories about three generations of families living there. The series is produced by animation studio Nexus and the animator and artist Niki Lindroth von Bahr will direct one of the series' episodes.

Awarded a gold beetle

Niki Lindroth von Bahr previously won several awards for his animated films. Her short film My burden has won awards at both Annecy's and Toronto's international film festivals and been awarded with a gold beetle.

She has previously told the Cultural News that it is difficult financially to work with animated short films in Sweden.

"Animation is associated with children's culture"

"In Sweden, animation is very much associated with children's culture and not so much more, while in, for example, France is considered part of the highbrow culture," she told Culture News last year.

Other creators who will make episodes for the House series are Belgian Emma de Swaef and Marc James Roels and British Paloma Baeza who previously made the stop-motion film Poles Apart which won the award for best animated short film at the Bafta Gala 2018.
