"We occasionally raise our prices to meet the large investments we have made in new TV series and films, but also to improve our product," says Anoek Eckhardt, communications manager for Netflix in Northern Europe, according to a press release.

Already existing customers will be notified by email one month before the price increase is implemented for them, the streaming giant writes.

The base and standard subscriptions where you can view one and two screens at the same time will not be raised.

Invest in Swedish content

Netflix has invested in Swedish content in recent years and several projects are underway. These include "Fast cash" in TV series form, a series based on Fredrik Backman's "People with anxiety" and a depiction of the advent of Spotify, which has not yet been completed.

At the same time, you will also focus more on features with interactive content such as in the movie "Black mirror: Bandersnatch" from last year, where viewers can choose how the action should continue.
