It was in November last year that the Labor Court ruled that it is the publisher Hatten who has the copyright to Babblarna in the immensely popular children's program of the same name.

The illustrator Ola Schubert, who worked for several years at Hatten and was one of the people who drew the colorful figures, was sentenced to pay court costs of just over SEK 3.8 million.

The result: 40 voted for - 0 against

It is now clear that Svenska Teknare goes in with SEK 1.2 million and thus pays a third part of the illustrator Ola Schubert's legal costs. When the votes were counted during Thursday's membership meeting, 40 had voted for the proposal and 0 against.

- It was a unanimous decision by the Swedish cartoonist's members to end up behind the individual member. This is a unique case that shows how important it is to stand up for copyright and the collective, says Josefine Engström, president of Swedish Cartoonist for the Culture News:

- The judgment shows that it is more important than ever to have good and solid agreements to never ever end up in such a situation.

Will you continue with this type of support or is this an individual case?

- This is an extraordinary and unusual case in part because the costs are so extensive. We must return to how we will act in the future, ”says Josefine Engström.
