Neither the presence of Nuria Roca, nor the attempts of Pablo Motos to relax the atmosphere, nor the concessions allowed almost out of desperation made Esty Quesada spend one of the worst nights in El Hormiguero.
It is true that most of the guests who come to El Hormiguero make it very easy for Pablo Motos. With the exception of political visits and the occasional Hollywood star, Pablo Motos never finds any complication that cannot be solved before the public becomes aware. Most of the characters that come to El Hormiguero are friends of Pablo Motos, they love him, they love him and they get carried away by the mechanics of the program trying to enjoy everything that Requena offers them.
So to meet a character like Esty Quesada was not provided in the script, neither Pablo Motos nor his collaborators had prepared for an interview in which the guest voice took her for the first time and in which the program turned completely on his character, his attitude and what he wanted or didn't want to do at all times. You have to have them square to go as a guest to one of the most watched television programs and make the presenter sweat, your partner (Nuria Roca), collaborators and a good part of the spectators who again used the Social Networks not only to criticize the attitude of Esty Quesada, but even to say that it had been the worst program in the history of El Hormiguero.
Maybe we don't understand his black humor, maybe we don't understand his attitude or maybe it's hard for us to see a record never seen in El Hormiguero. El Hormiguero is a program of pure and hard entertainment, of fun, of relaxation after a day at peak and shovel. In short, a program to clear the mind. And Esty Quesada last night broke it.
For those who do not know, Esty Quesada, although she does not like to be called that, is a youtuber with a channel that has almost 300,000 subscribers. Its eccentricities, its pessimism taken to the maximum, its eagerness and love for death, its 'everything blows me and you all do not know to what extent', its scathing criticisms have made it one of the best known influencer in our country. That is to say, Pablo Motos knew exactly what the guest was limping on, but it became so impertinent in a good part of last night's program, that there were times when I swear I thought Pablo Motos (and the occasional collaborator) sent her to fry asparagus and they stayed like God.
They kept the forms, more would be missing, but it was inevitable to perceive the tension, the weariness and, why not say it, the 'you are touching the cataplines' on more than one occasion. Pablo Motos kept the forms at all times, but his face, his gestures and the occasional touch during the program let Pablo Motos see nothing accustomed to meeting such guests and, on more than one occasion, about to burst.
Nuria Roca (super, mega, hyper friend of Pablo Motos) and Esty Quesada went to El Hormiguero to present their new Road Trip series, which will premiere on January 26 on TNT. As they were presented by Pablo Motos and they went on stage it was seen that the thing was not going to be so easy.
While Nuria Roca, collaborator of the program, moved like a fish in the water and did what all the guests do, greet the audience and dance to the rhythm of the music that receives the guests, Esty Quesada, was completely paralyzed, covered his face with his hands and frightened Pablo Motos, who at one point came to think that he was crying because he was excited. Poor inocent!

Road trip is nothing more than that: two strangers with nothing in common who ride in a car, get to know each other, live all kinds of situations and eventually end up being colleagues. All great, wonderful and fantastic until you have to sit in El Hormiguero and tell it. At first it gave the feeling that Nuria Roca was going to carry the singing voice and was going to try to get Esty Quesada into the game. In the end, Esty Quesada was the absolute protagonist of a night that began with monosyllables, continued with impertinences and ended up wishing it had ended before.
Look that there has sometimes been in El Hormiguero that the interview that starts the program has choked a little, but last night it became a large piece of chicken pierced in the windpipe. "Esty, I am delighted to meet you. I have seen some of your videos. You are like 'youtuber', well you don't like to be called 'youtuber' ...", Motos began. First direct hit to the partition: "I don't care." Cri cri cri! Crickets sounded in the background, they would sound many times last night. And is that Esty Quesada decided that it was best to answer either with monosyllables, or not answer, or answer with the same question or directly with some impertinence that Pablo Motos was unable to manage.

And the case is that the series has a pint because I would love to see how Nuria Roca managed 2,000 kilometers of all the eccentricities of Esty Quesada and how Esty Quesada was able to cope with the overwhelming energy and excessive positivism of Nuria Roca. And it is also true that all the stories they told last night invite you to watch the program. From Hurricane Dorian, "which almost killed us", going through a visit to a town where all were mediums for Esty Quesada to contact her father, until when Nuria Roca decided to go jogging alone and ended up in the hospital. However, when you are going to promote a program and the attitude of the promoter throws you back, it is difficult that you want to see it.
I understand that the role of Esty Quesada is the one she showed last night and that if it had been shown otherwise it would not have been her, but you can keep the essence and what has made you one of the best-known youtuber in Spain, and maintain some respect for where they are and, above all, for the opportunity they are giving you. Many would like to go to El Hormiguero as guests to promote their album, movie, book or whatever.
The interview continued between anecdotes, confessions about the passion for the death of Esty Quesada, and insolence. They had not even five minutes of interview and Pablo Motos had already shown that this was not looking for him.
