Dubai Municipality has announced the service of issuing camping permits with caravans on beaches designated for this purpose, free of charge and available online on the department's website.

The general manager of the municipality, Dawood Al Hajri said: “The decision came in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, with the aim of ensuring that camp enthusiasts and caravans enjoy the distinctive atmosphere of the beaches throughout the year, especially in the winter, As this distinguished initiative contributes to enhancing the happiness and satisfaction of the community members.

He added that «the winter of each year witnesses a dense number of campers and an increase in the number of caravans and trailers heading to the beach, given the nature of the beautiful and attractive atmosphere that characterizes the beaches of Dubai», stressing that it is still necessary for those wishing to camp on the beach to obtain a prior permit from Dubai Municipality, before heading to the site, which is issued free of charge without fees.

He explained that "the beach currently designated in the emirate for this activity is a beach in the Al Sufouh area, adjacent to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Street."

He added that «it is possible to obtain the necessary permits electronically without the need to visit the department, as a confirmation of its endeavor to make Dubai a smart and sustainable city, where the applicant must enter the necessary data and documents through the Dubai Municipality’s website, and the permit is issued immediately, which allows its holder Camping in the specified location for 15 days, ”noting that the permit aims to ensure proper planning for this type of beach use.

The Blue Flag

All public beaches in the Emirate of Dubai have won, for the third year, the international accreditation of the Blue Flag program, which confirms the commitment of Dubai Municipality to make all its beach facilities compatible with the standards required by the organization, covering many areas, including water quality, environmental sustainability, and safety and security equipment .
