The Unsa rail, 2nd union at SNCF, maintains its call for the current strike but recognizes that "the announcement that was made of the withdrawal of the pivotal age under conditions may allow us to come out on top", said its secretary general, Didier Mathis, on Sunday.

"The Unsa rail company remains on strike to obtain that the status railway workers keep the calculation on the basis of the last six months for their retirement," said Didier Mathis. "Today 30,000 of them are excluded from this calculation".

The Unsa railway and “its own demands”

The position of Unsa Rail in the coming days will be scrutinized while at the national level, the confederation led by Laurent Escure will return to the negotiating table as part of a financing conference after the withdrawal under conditions of the pivotal age of 64 in 2027. "This may allow us to come out on top, depending on the proposals that will be made, we have proposals," said Didier Mathis.

The Unsa rail company has "its own claims", which are the retirement calculated over the last 6 months for status railway workers and the calculation over the best 25 years for contract workers, he explained. According to him, Unsa RATP is in the same position of maintenance in the strike.
