Their houses are burning. For three months, the men of fire have been fighting day and night against the flames which ravage many Australian states. Twenty-four people have already died from the fire, and just over ten million people have been poisoned by the smoke.

Pollution never equaled before

Initial estimates from the New South Wales Rural Fire Service indicate that the fires, which continue to destroy parts of the country, could cost at least $ 485 billion in damage.

As of January 1, 2020, the capital Canberra was the most toxic city in the world, ahead of New Delhi in India and Dakar in Senegal.
