The Civil Aviation Authority of Iran reported that the crashed Ukrainian plane that crashed yesterday and its 176 deaths, had faced a technical problem before it crashed.

"The commander of the Ukrainian plane did not make a radio call informing him of an unusual situation," the authority said in a preliminary report issued on Thursday about the accident, while the Ukrainian presidency said that a number of possibilities regarding the causes of the accident were discussed.

The commission added that Iranian investigators had sent preliminary information about the incident to Ukraine, the United States, Sweden and Canada.
