At the end of the year, the end of the year was held at a shrine in Mito City, and children enjoyed the mood of the New Year.

Every year at the end of the year, rice cakes are made at Tokiwa Shrine in Mito City, and about 60 people, including local boy scouts and girl scouts, participated.

When the glutinous rice steamed in the furnace was put into the mortar, the children followed the rice cake with vigorous shouts with a powerful shout of "yosho" and "yosho".

After about 20 minutes, the mochi came up and it was made into "kina mochi" or natto mochi with special natto.

Children smiled one after another with smiles along with their own kenchin soup, and enjoyed the mood of the New Year.

A sixth grade elementary school girl from Mito City said, "I had rice cake for the first time, but it was fun. It is sticky and delicious."

In addition, the boy in the sixth grade of elementary school said, "Kine was heavy and difficult, but it was fun. Kinako powdered rice was delicious."

Some of the completed mochi will be offered to shrines as mirror mochi, or used for New Year's events.
