Excessive 600 million yen for long-term care insurance premiums Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's affiliate group made a mistake December 27 18:01

Nursing care premiums paid by people over the age of 40 indicate that over 600 million yen had been collected by health insurance unions and other organizations over the past two years due to a mistake made by an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

Nursing care premiums paid by people between the ages of 40 and 64 are collected by the Social Insurance Medical Fee Payment Fund, an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, this affiliate has collected insurance premiums of about 610 million yen more than originally from health insurance unions, etc., which employees mainly join in the past two years.

Although the formula for calculating the amount of money should have been changed in line with the system revision, it is due to the fact that it was calculated as before.

The extra amount collected is estimated to be about 20 yen per subscriber.

On the other hand, from national health insurance members such as self-employed people, less than the original amount has been collected in the two years up to this year, and the shortfall is about 450 million yen.

The Social Insurance Medical Fee Payment Fund has revealed that in April this year, the amount of premiums collected this year could be about 20 billion yen short of what it should be, and collection errors have been occurring one after another.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare wants to adjust the amount collected by mistake with the amount for the next fiscal year and work closely with the fund to prevent recurrence.
